The Osborne Family Lights
One of my all time favorite holiday traditions is to see the amazing Osborne Family Lights. Year after year it never gets old because there is nothing quite like standing in the middle of millions of twinkling lights.
Universal’s Macy’s Day Parade
If you love to watch Macy’s parade on Thanksgiving, you are in luck! Head to Universal and you can enjoy a mini version of the NYC parade all December long.
Watch the Snow fall in Celebration
You won’t find real snow in Orlando but in downtown Celebration you can experience the next best thing. “Snow” falls nightly in downtown Celebration and it’s completely free to enjoy the festivities.
The Very Merry Christmas Party
If you are willing to pay the extra cost, seeing snow fall on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom is a magical experience. The Very Merry Christmas Party also features a special parade, holiday themed shows throughout the park, unique character interactions, and unlimited hot cocoa and cookies.
Fireworks at the Polynesian Resort
If you are not willing to fork over the extra money to attend the Christmas party at Magic Kingdom but you would still like to see the special holiday themed fireworks, head over to the Polynesian Resort and watch them from the beach for free!
Giant Gingerbread House
During the holidays, Orlando is home to quite a few giant gingerbread displays. You can head to Gaylord Palms, the Florida Mall, Bonnet Creek, or multiple Disney Resorts to see life size gingerbread houses, carousels, and other delicious smelling displays.
ICE!
The lack of snow in Florida doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy tons and tons of ice. Every year the Gaylord Palms turns into a winter wonderland full of amazing ice displays, ice slides, and very necessary parkas.
Epcot’s Candlelight Processional
The candlelight processional is another holiday event that I can do multiple times a year and never get tired of. Try to catch Neil Patrick Harris, Whoppi Goldberg, or Jonathan Groff when you go!
The Nutcracker
There are many options for seeing the Nutcracker in Orlando. Look up just about every theater in the Orlando area and chances are they will have a Nutcracker performance planned for the holidays. One of my favorites is the one performed by the Orlando Ballet.
Holidays Around the World
I’m a big fan of Epcot all year round but it is especially fun and entertaining during the winter holidays. If you want to get a better idea of how the holidays are in various locations around the world, be sure to check out Holidays Around the World at Epcot.
