7. Do something kind for someone else.
We all know that doing something for someone else will leave you with a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Today, take the time to pay it forward and do something kind for someone else. Studies have shown that giving can improve mental and physical health by decreasing stress. Giving also promotes social connections and evokes gratitude. It’s a great time of year to surprise your neighbor with fresh baked cookies, donate useful items around your home that you are not using, or send a friend a thoughtful card in the mail. If you are short on time today, you can keep it simple and pay for coffee for the person behind you in line, hold doors open for others, and give out lots of compliments. Doing these things daily can be life changing. The positive change that you create will effect others but it will also make you feel happier and better about yourself.
