Falling in love with Boston was never part of the plan. When I realized that I would be in Massachusetts for a play, only about an hour away from Boston, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone and visit a city I had never been to. John and I thought it would be great to check Boston off of our bucket list and we didn’t really plan to be blown away. Now I am counting the days until I will be back. Friends and acquaintances are always telling us about places we should visit and things we should go see and I’m shocked that the Boston Common was never mentioned to us during these conversations. It is now one of my favorite places in the world.
While I’m sure it is beautiful during every season, fall at Boston Common was completely magical. The burnt orange leaves, the crisp light air, and the breath taking views took my infatuation with Boston to full blown head over heels love. Both relaxing and invigorating, John and I would have happily spent all day here if we had had the time. This time I brought my camera and my sense of adventure but next time I plan to bring a good book and a picnic. It’s difficult not to be envious of the people who live in walking distance to this stunning, historic park.
