When you buy beauty or cleaning products at the store, the majority of them are filled with chemicals that are not healthy for your body. This is why I make so many of my own products. I also find that after spending a good amount of money on a product, so many of them don’t even work that well! After my first time using this sugar scrub, I noticed an immediate change in my skin. Even my husband, who has the roughest elbows ever, noticed a difference. After his sixth time using it, his elbows are actually soft!
I see so many pinterest recipes for complicated beauty products that I don’t have time for. Running three businesses means that I only have 5 minutes to spend on a recipe, which is exactly how long this takes me.
The best thing about this (and most) sugar scrubs is that there is not a perfect way to make it. A lot of it depends on how exactly you like your scrubs and it is easy to fix a recipe gone wrong. (Added too much sugar? Add more oil!)
After you have made a few for yourself, why not whip up a batch for some friends or family? These make the perfect personal (and cheap!) gift for any occasion.
Supplies
-Sugar (brown, white, or both)
-Chai Tea
-Oil (almond or coconut work great)
Make
1.Combine ½ of brown sugar and ½ of white granulated sugar with the contents of 5 chai tea bags.
2. Add in 6 tablespoons of oil. You can use 6 tablespoons of almond oil or coconut or you can do 3 tablespoons of each. I prefer a mixture or all almond oil.
3. Mix well. Then spoon in to an airtight jar.
Optional: You can add a teaspoon of honey, ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon of nutmeg, etc.
Use
In small circular motions, rub the sugar scrub on your body to get rid of dead skin cells, moisturize your skin, and boost circulation.
