Every now and again we all need a good cry. Bottling up emotions is never good and we live in a society that pushes people to do that constantly. Whether you have had a bad day, feel bad about something you or someone else did, or just feel a bit emotional for reasons you can’t quite put your finger on, having a good cry can make you feel so much better. Be sure to check out any (or all) of the movies on this list when you are in need of a good cry.
Hotel Rwanda
Sad. Brilliantly done. Real. It has been called the African Schindler’s List. This film broke my heart and every person with access to a TV should watch it.
The Blind Side
The bed comment made me weep in the movie theater. Not cry, weep. Knowing that it was based on a true story made it even harder to hear.
Rent
It’s a classic that over all is a feel good movie to me. I always walk away from watching Rent with a smile on my face. However, there are various parts of the movie where that smile is replaced with tears.
The Pursuit of Happiness
My best friend and I cried so hard while watching this that my husband actually turned the movie off to make sure we were okay. No, I am not embarrassed by that fact. Watch it and you will understand why.
Armageddon
No one can get through the Liv Tyler/Bruce Willis scene without crying but I actually start crying when they start their mission. Something about them walking to their destiny as heroes just makes me choke up every time.
Seven Pounds
No crying here. Just bawling. Bawling my eyes out. I love Will Smith and I definitely think this is his best (if not tied for best) movie.
