Mornings are an important part of my day. I firmly believe that a well spent morning leads to a well spent day. In order to make sure I am getting the most out of my mornings, I follow a routine that allows me to start the day feeling energized and ready to tackle anything.
+ Wake Up
The first thing I do in the morning is turn my alarm off. If I am not already on my back, I turn over to make sure that I am. I stretch my legs and wiggle my toes before getting out of bed and stretching lightly for about 10-15 minutes.
+ Oil Pull + Social Media +Boil Water
After stretching, I head into the kitchen to start boiling water for my lemon water. While waiting for the water to boil, I do my daily oil pulling. I pull oil for about 20 minutes, which makes it the perfect time to work on social media for my personal brand and Equal and Forever.
+ Brush Teeth + Floss
I normally turn off the boiling water at this point. When I am finished with oil pulling, I brush my teeth and floss. This is normally an event in itself since I am one of those people with an electronic toothbrush and a water pic. I don’t feel awake until my mouth is as clean as I can possibly make it.
+ Drink Lemon Water + Take Vitamins
The first thing I consume in the morning is warm lemon water. After slicing up a fresh lemon, I add it to my now warm water and drink it down quickly. I follow that with my daily vitamins and supplements, which I take with room temperature water.
+ Make Smoothie
I try to start everyday with a nutrient packed smoothie. It only takes me between three and five minutes to make and it is a great way to make sure you get in your fruits and vegetables first thing in the morning.
+ Finish Social Media + Check Email
After I have made my smoothie, I head over to my desk and start working on my computer. It takes me at least 20 minutes to finish my smoothie (I’m a slow eater and drinker), which is a perfect time to catch up on any social media I didn’t manage to finish earlier in the morning and check my email inbox for any additions from the night before.
It takes me about 45 minutes to an hour to get through my morning routine and after its completed, I feel like I can take on the world! What’s your morning routine like?
