If you live in the United States of America, chances are you experienced patriotic food, beer, or fireworks yesterday. Perhaps you lived it up and enjoyed all three!
Lately I’ve been working on a huge project for a client that I am consulting for, so I decided to get a little bit of work done yesterday morning. John and I decided not to skip our daily gym date so we headed to our gym after I finished work. It was leg day (my least favorite) so maybe I should have rethought that choice! At least my workout ended with a chocolate protein shake. That always lessens the blow of being sore the next day!
Being a vegetarian, most “July 4th food” doesn’t really interest me but John and I decided to head to Disney Springs to stop by the new Coca Cola Store and have a veggie burger at Deluxe Burger. The views from the Coca Cola store are absolutely amazing! Be sure to check out my Snapchat story to see them! I know I will be spending a lot of summer nights watching sunsets from that roof.
Since I am not really a soda drinker, I was happy to see that the menu included teas and juices. In addition to Root Beer floats and Coke floats, they also have a float flight that I’m sure John and I will be indulging in at some point this summer.
After exploring the Coca Cola Store, John and I headed over to Deluxe Burger. Their vegetarian burger never disappoints. It’s actually the best one that I have ever had in a restaurant! Just like on my last two visits I ordered all of the sauces that they offer: Garlic Ranch, Horseradish, Chipotle Mayo, 3 Mustard and Honey, Buffalo Blue Cheese, and Curry Ketchup. I still am not sure which is my favorite!
At 8pm we left Disney Springs to head to Celebration. We parked at our close friend’s house and walked to Downtown Celebration. We met up with other friends once we were downtown and settled on a nice (and mostly uncrowded) viewing spot by the Grand Bohemian hotel.
Being an annual passholder at Disney and Universal, I’m very spoiled when it comes to fireworks. Even people that just live in the Orlando area and never go to theme parks can easily see fireworks every night from free locations. Because of this, I’ve become a little picky about where to spend July 4th and New Year’s Eve. Celebration has one of the best firework displays I have ever seen, yet we didn’t have to fight with 1/4 of the crowds we would have at Disney. If you find yourself near Orlando during Independence Day, I highly suggest stopping in Celebration for fireworks!
