Eat something healthy and delicious today.
It’s a common misconception that people eat healthy because they want to lose weight. When someone reaches for a salad instead of a heavier option or chooses fruit over a dessert, people often will ask if the person making these healthy decisions is on a diet. The reality of healthy food is that it empowers our body, filling it with vitamins and nutrients that allow it to work at its full potential.
Lately I have been trying to eat as healthy as possible (I still have chocolate when I am craving it) not because I want to lose weight or change the way I look but because I want to be as healthy as I possibly can. Eating foods that contain nutrients that my body needs gives me more energy, allows me to think clearer, and makes me feel healthier over all.
I don’t eat healthy food because I want to change my body; I eat healthy food because I love and appreciate my body. I know that I am worth the extra time it takes to prepare a healthy meal or plan out healthy meals for the week. Taking care of yourself is a very important part of self love. There will always be times that I have a problem that is best solved by my good friends Ben and Jerry but most days, I will be eating healthy food because it is the best thing for me and I believe that I deserve the best. I hope you know that you deserve the best when it comes to your health and you are more than worth the effort.
