Lately my work weeks have been stressful and busy. Work has been spilling over into my weekends even though I worked really hard to establish a strict schedule last year so that wouldn’t happen anymore. All this extra stress is making me take de-stressing very seriously. This past weekend, de-stressing came in the form of a Disney theme park and a festival celebrating food and wine. On Saturday, I attended Epcot’s Annual Food and Wine Festival and I enjoyed indulging in some of my usual favorites as well as trying out some new options.
Being a vegetarian means that I am probably not the best person to review the food at the Food and Wine Festival because I can only have a limited amount of it. I can however, tell you where my festival favorites are. As far as food goes I am a huge fan of the Terra cart which serves all vegan food. This year, they have a new “crab” cake dish and a spicy “chicken” dish. John and I agree that they are both delicious and we are having a hard time deciding which we enjoy better. The watermelon juice (a fan favorite from last year) is just as delicious and refreshing as it was last year and it goes very well with the “crab” cake. My favorite dessert would have to be the chocolate cannoli in Italy. It’s both light and rich and it is on the small side but it packs a big punch. When the festival isn’t in full swing though, my favorite dessert (in all four parks) would have to be the pumpkin macaroon ice cream sandwich in Epcot’s France pavilion.
In addition to a plethora of food and wine options, the festival also has a number of other vendors, including my new favorite natural soap company, Rinse. I picked up pumpkin beer soap for John and I am planning to go back for some wine scented soap for friends in the upcoming weeks.
I highly suggest checking out the festival if you are going to be in the Orlando area this fall and if you live in Orlando, get an annual pass so you can visit again and again!
