I haven’t shared a music post with you in awhile because to be perfectly honest, I have been listening to a lot of 90s music that I pray you have heard before. I only share music if I truly believe it is share worthy and I haven’t heard anything new that I have fell in love with until the latest episode of Saturday Night Live aired.
Ever since visiting the SNL set last year, John and I are always extra excited to see the music performances. We know we will be amazed by what each artist does to make such a small stage so unique. As soon as I heard the first few notes out of the latest musical guests mouth, I was totally blown away. The performance was truly captivating and as soon as it was over, I found myself searching online to learn more about that heavenly voice.
The sultry vocals belong to Sam Smith, a British singer songwriter who rose to fame across the pond in October 2012 after the release of his first single, “Latch”. Smith’s voice reminds me of everything that was good about 90s R&B and his lyrical content is better than anything currently playing on American radio stations.
In the playlist below, I chose my five favorite songs by Sam Smith to give you just a taste of how talented he is. If you only have time for one song today, it should be “Nirvana”, which is the song that I currently can’t get enough of. You can pre-order Sam Smith’s first studio album “The Lonely Hour” now on iTunes.
Have a great Monday!
